We are delighted to invite you to submit an abstract to be included in the Fourth Annual Neonatal
Cardiopulmonary Biology Young Investigators Forum. This Forum is a unique educational opportunity
designed for US- and Canadian-based young investigators, including fellows and junior faculty, who
are conducting clinical or basic science research related to neonatal cardiopulmonary biology. The
Forum is sponsored by the Section of Neonatology, University of Colorado School of Medicine and is
supported by an independent educational grant from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. The Forum will
take place in Chicago, Illinois, at the Warwick Allerton-Chicago Hotel on September 7-10, 2017.

The purpose of this Forum is to assemble senior faculty with fellows and junior faculty who share
interests in cardiopulmonary biology. Neonatology, Cardiology, Pulmonary, and Pediatric Critical Care
junior faculty and fellows are invited to submit an abstract of their research (clinical, basic science
or translational) to a panel of recognized expert faculty for assessment. The top 30 abstracts will
be accepted. These investigators will be invited to attend the Forum to present their research in
full for further review and comment by the expert faculty and other young investigators. Additional
group discussions on career development, developing independent research programs, mentorship
strategies, and related topics are also planned.

Grants will be provided to the top 8 presenters selected by the expert faculty. This Forum is an
exceptional opportunity to focus on research, interact with other young investigators, and receive
invaluable mentorship from the faculty.

We encourage you to submit your research abstract by July 3, 2017. We are working with Alexis
Weinstein and Joanne Jablonski to implement this activity.

Alexis Weinstein: 646-674-9545 or aweinstein@contacthmc.com
Joanne Jablonski: 646-674-4882 or jjablonski@contacthmc.com

On behalf of the participating faculty, we look forward to receiving your abstract, and hope to see you
in Chicago this September.
