The only thing I think I may add next time is a tablespoon or so of tomato paste.

I used ground chicken, added much more cayenne for some extra spice and unfortunately couldn’t quite fit all the tater tots in my very large pan, but what we had was more than enough.I wasn’t really sure when I was supposed to mix the onions into the meat mixture but did so when I added the flour.

What I would suggest is to fry up the breakfast sausage and cut the vegetables the night before. Or anything from your fridge that you need to use up. So perfect!! Will definitely be making again. I saw a few comments about it not thickening, and I thought that people who aren’t in high altitude might need to make adjustments, assuming you are still in Colorado as I am.

You guys, this quarantine cooking is getting, well…it’s getting interesting. I was able to use fresh herbs from my garden including the chives on the top. In a cast-iron skillet, add ground beef and seasonings, brown the ground beef.

I used ground turkey and a really big cast iron skillet. xTieghan. Continue to cook another 8-10 minutes until you've used the 1/2 cup of wine and the onions are deeply caramelized.

This was so deep in flavor and texture (and personally, I think the kale took it to a new level). A classic tater tot casserole, also known as tater tot hot dish.

I ended up trying to save the dish by airfrying the tots and using a turkey baster to suck up the juice from the pan.

This dish is easy, takes just about an hour to make, is cheesy, heavy on the potatoes, and all-around delicious! I am always so happy with your recipes! i used half beef and half mushrooms. 4 people came to dinner and all had second servings.

Second step: In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet add the breakfast sausage and chopped green pepper, and onion. To be honest I have not made this particular recipe the night before. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened 3-5 minutes.

Next, add a touch of flour, this helps thicken the sauce and make it almost gravy-like.

However, if you don’t have a skillet that can go from the range to a heated oven, this recipe will easily conform to a 9 x 13 baking pan.

Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dish is bubbling and the tater tots are hot and baked through. Having the sausage and vegetables ready takes the longest amount of time, so if they are ready for you in the morning it should only take a few minutes to throw everything together. Hi Kelly!
